Success Rates

Created in 2007, our NCIVF program has already established a 28.5% clinical pregnancy rate per embryo transfer.

Date: 1/1/2007 - 10/30/2007

% Clinical Pregnancy Per Embryo Transfer

28.5%

Based upon our experience with NCIVF, and information reported in the medical literature, we anticipate that patients undergoing 3 NCIVF embryo transfers would have a cumulative success rate for pregnancy that equals or exceeds treatment with stimulated IVF.

    Problems with NCIVF

  • Cycle Cancellation- Occurs in about 25% of patients because of premature ovulation or LH surging (a sudden change in hormones) that would require us not to proceed with egg retrieval. If such an event occurs, we will perform an intrauterine insemination (IUI) if at least one fallopian tube is open.
  • Failure to retrieve the egg- Occurs in less than 5% of patients.
  • Failure to fertilize the egg- Occurs in less than 5% of patients. All eggs will be fertilized using ICSI unless a special circumstance exists.
  • Failed embryo growth and no embryo transfer- Occurs in less than 5% of patients
  • Overall, we would expect most of the patients starting a treatment cycle to complete the treatment cycle and undergo an embryo transfer. Over the course of three treatments, we expect about 50% or more of those patients with the "most favorable prognosis" for pregnancy to achieve pregnancy.
