Michael DiMattina, MD
Medical Director
Dr. DiMattina is the Director of Dominion Fertility in Arlington, Virginia, which he founded in 1987. In 2008, his peers voted him as the top infertility doctor in the Washington D.C area in Washingtonian magazine, and since 1992 he has been listed multiple times as a top doctor. He is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology, and subspecialty certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. DiMattina is a clinical associate professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Chemistry from The American University. He then performed cancer research at The National Institutes of Health before attending medical school at The Medical College of Virginia.
Dr. DiMattina completed his internship/residency at Georgetown University, and his fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at Georgetown and the NIH.? During that time he studied advanced techniques in IVF at Kings College Hospital in London, England. He has been performing IVF since 1984, and he has had many firsts in the field of Reproductive Medicine.

In December 2006, Dr. DiMattina was one of only three American doctors to attend the First World Congress in Natural Cycle IVF in London, England, and in March 2007 he performed the first successful Natural Cycle IVF procedure in the Washington, D.C. area. His current interests are in unstimulated and Natural Cycle IVF.
Since 1986, Dr. DiMattina has actively taught the Georgetown University Ob-Gyn medical students and residents, and for this, was awarded the ACOG, Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology National Faculty Award for excellence in teaching in 2007.
Dr. DiMattina is co-author of the book, "100 Questions and Answers About Infertility." He also volunteers his time at a local nonprofit OB/GYN clinic providing GYN care to indigent patients in Arlington.
John David Gordon, MD
Co-Director
Dr. John David Gordon is the Co-Director of Dominion Fertility and a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The George Washington University in Washington D.C. As a professor, he provides weekly lectures in Reproductive Endocrinology to the Obstetrics and Gynecology interns, residents, and medical students from The George Washington University. He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Gordon graduated summa-cum-laude from Princeton University with a degree in Biology. He attended medical school at Duke University. Dr. Gordon was an intern in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University Medical Center and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Gordon is the editor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Infertility, a best-selling handbook with over 150,000 copies in print that is used worldwide by medical students, residents, physicians, and women's healthcare providers. Dr.Gordon has been honored on numerous occasions for his educational activities winning the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) National Resident Teaching Award three times in the past 9 years.
Patients are welcome to post questions to Dr.Gordon on the INCIID website where he has moderated the IVF and High-Tech Treatments bulletin board for nearly a decade.
