In January of 2009, Dominion Fertility embryology laboratory director, Awie Botes, traveled to his birthplace of South Africa to attend the wedding of a young man he helped conceive through IVF over 20 years ago.

Awie became friendly with this family while working at the first IVF laboratory in all of South Africa. He remained close with them because seeing them struggle to go from a professional couple in a sterile house to a family in a home has been an inspiration to him in his career.

Awie looks forward to another wedding soon- the twin brother of the groom has recently become engaged!
